Kick off the Christmas year in fashion with a trip down memory lane at Christmas Village in Ogden. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and the lights are the best part. You will get to see who enjoys Christmas and see those who don’t like Christmas. You have the people who go all out on their houses, yards, and anything else that they can decorate. Some people aren’t that festive about Christmas so they won’t have anything decorated on their property. Christmas Village is the best place to go get in the spirit for Christmas. Here is a background information and what people think about the lights at Christmas Village.
Christmas Village has been a tradition for families since 1962. Christmas Village illuminates downtown Ogden with magnificent displays and holiday lights every year from the Saturday after Thanksgiving through January 1st. Spectators find themselves in a wonderful winter wonderland modeled after Santa’s village at the North Pole. The lights are from 5pm to midnight every night and the admission is free. You can also vote on the villages that they have displays.
Senior Lexi Mora said she enjoys walking around with her friends. “It was pretty poppin’,” Mora said. The last time she went to any lights was when she was 13, but she would go again this year.
Senior, Timothy Parkinson has been to the lights also. His favorite memory is all the colorful colors the lights have. “It was pretty amazing,” Parkinson said. The last time Parkinson went to the lights was two years. “Yasssssss,” Parkinson said that he would go again.
Senior Jaden Priest went to the lights last year. His favorite memory was watching his girlfriend light up while they were walking around. Priest would go but again, but “only if my girlfriend goes.”
Christmas Village is the best place to go see lights. They have many varieties of different lights and just cottages of different displays about Christmas. Christmas Village lights gets you in the spirit for the Christmas season. Families enjoy going; they love to take their children to see them light up and have fun. You should go too.
