After a successful and exciting season, volleyball is sadly coming to an end. The hard work and dedication of the team, as well as the coaches, has paid off. So far, in the season they are ranked third in region with three games left to play. They are on the road to state, which makes winning these last three games vital.
This Volleyball season had an early start with tryouts on August 8th and the first game on August 21st, which was also the first day of school.
The first region game, against Juan Diego, was one of the closest games this season. The Lady Lakers put up a good fight, but ended up losing in the fifth set by two points. This motivated the girls to work even harder, and come back stronger against their rivals, Ogden High school.
This rivalry game was one of the best games this season. Right side hitter Avery Hall says, “The Ogden game was probably the highlight of this season.” Lady Lakers came out with a big win. Many other players such as Abby VanVossen and Julia Harrop said, “Proving that Tigers can’t swim” was definitely one of their favorite parts of the season.
Overall the Lady Lakers have had a very successful, strong season. The first state game was held October 24th. It was against Lehi. Bonneville lost 3-1. The next state game was Desert Hills and Bonneville lost in three games.
Making it to the state game was a great accomplishment. Way to go and good luck next season!
